Optimizing dog performance and training
The training of our animals must be approached rationally. To develop and maintain the dog's physical abilities, it is essential to gradually but regularly increase the intensity and duration of the effort. This basic rule makes it possible to gradually optimize cardio-respiratory performance.Explosiveness or endurance
For dogs regularly subjected to short-term violent exertion (sprinting from racing greyhounds, ringer or intervention dog 'attacks', agility, etc.), the most widely used and effective training method is to alternate phases of brief and intense effort with phases of incomplete recovery. The body thus learns to 'recover' more quickly and muscle mass increases. Conversely, for dogs subjected to moderate effort over the long term (canicross, sled race, hunting, tracking), the training will rather consist of having the dog run or trot over a long distance, taking care between the exercises for full recovery periods. The dog's organism thus increases its ability to consume and use oxygen.Food as a foundation
The sporting dog's diet must therefore provide both maximum energy and all the elements capable of making the best use of this energy potential, all in a low-volume ration, in order to avoid overloading and the risk of accidents which are more or less directly associated with it (torsions of the stomach, strains, sprains, fainting, etc.).In parallel with the energy expenditure that it implies, sporting activity impacts the whole of the dog's skeleton: food supplements such as chondroitin and glucosamine, already naturally present in the bones and cartilages but which tend to decrease with age. age, will promote the protection and regeneration of articular cartilage.
To compensate for the known lack of zinc in our Nordic dogs in particular, ELEMENT has developed a coat and pads formula which promotes the supply of zinc, vitamins and marine collagen in order to avoid fragile pads. We have also worked on 2 formulas for joint maintenance and reinforcement differently dosed in glucosamine and chondroitin, Meadowsweet or Harpagophytum to maintain and support the protection of the joints of our 4-legged friends. All our supplements are natural and manufactured by our laboratory in the Alps. ELEMENT thought for the race and the well being of our dogs.
