This year again, our Element .vet lab is a partner of the Lekkarod veterinary team led by Delphine Cléro. The veterinary team will pamper the tired or injured bodies of our 4-legged athletes with our gels and balms throughout the race, from March 15 to 23, 2019, and 9 days of competition is a long time!
Here is an interview with Delphine, responsible for the Lekkarod veterinary team since the beginning. Absent in 2017, she returns this year with a reinforced team to pamper canine athletes for, as she says: " to have the pleasure of seeing dogs in good shape and happy! ".

DOMINIQUE GRANDJEAN
President of the association, and director of the race.
Professor at the National Veterinary School of Alfort (ENVA), with practical experience acquired over twenty years of field veterinary medicine in the field of sled dogs, Dominique created in 1996, the Medical Unit of Breeding and Sport, within the ENVA.
Veterinarian on the greatest dog sled races, one of the founders of the Alpirod in his time, Dominique is the pillar of Lekkarod.
This year, in addition to sponsoring the race, our Team ELEMENT.vet, Champion of France (MID 6 purebred dogs), will run in the 6-dog category. We have participated since the creation in this magnificent competition across the French Alps. The sled will be in the colors of ELEMENT.vet.
Valérie Maumon's team will be made up of 6 Siberian huskies who will be keen to succeed in this sporting challenge.

Throughout the week on our Facebook page ELEMENT we will make you live this event by our direct and by our photos. We have a pool of 8 dogs, and each day we will have to start with 6 harnessed dogs.
Two will be able to recover and compensate for injuries if there are any. Each dog has of course been trained since last September, with almost daily outings. Each dog is cared for with our range of food supplements, and receives quality food (Royal Canin 4800 and 5000). We are going to use the rehydration solution developed with Maisons Alfort a lot after each stage. Each dog is massaged, relaxed to have maximum recovery and has been followed in osteopathy during the preparation phase.
