Glucosamine is made by the body from glucose and an amino acid. It plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the cartilage in every joint. Together with chondroitin, they help to slow the natural wear of cartilage linked to age or joint wear, maintain elasticity and resistance in the joint, and improve quality of movement over the long term.

Chondroitin (chondroitin sulphate) is a glycosaminoglycan found in connective tissue. It is a component of the cartilage matrix. It contributes to the flexibility and elasticity of bone.

Lithothamnion (calcareous marine algae) is a highly absorbable natural source of calcium, magnesium and trace elements. Its value during growth is twofold: bone mineralisation and metabolic balance. Calcium takes part in consolidating the developing skeleton, in puppies of medium and large breeds undergoing rapid growth.

Magnesium and trace elements are involved in the quality of the bone framework, muscle contraction and neuromuscular coordination.

The eggshell membrane is the fine film covering the inner wall of the shell and separating it from the egg white. At once resistant and elastic, it seals the porous calcareous shell and protects the inside of the egg from microbes and impurities.

This membrane is rich in collagen protein, hyaluronic acid, glucosamine, chondroitin, keratin, lysozyme, elastin and sulphur-containing amino acids.
