A micro-toothed blade, and nothing that cuts

The EasyGroomer is the American EquiGroomer brush, renamed for France, where ELEMENT VET is its official and exclusive reseller. Its steel blade carries a multitude of tiny teeth: drawn in the direction of the coat, it catches dead hair and loose undercoat without pulling on live hair or cutting it. No sharp blade, no wide teeth that scratch the skin.

Which cats is it for?

  • Short hair (European shorthair, Chartreux, British Shorthair): a few strokes are enough to remove dead hair.
  • Medium and long hair that sheds: it removes dead undercoat, working in small sections.
  • Maine Coon, Persian, matted cats: it does not undo knots. Detangle first with a comb, then use the EasyGroomer for the undercoat.

How to brush your cat

  1. Choose a quiet moment, when your cat is relaxed.
  2. Brush a dry coat, in the direction of the hair, with short, gentle strokes, without pressing.
  3. Focus on the back, flanks and base of the tail, where undercoat builds up.
  4. Stop before your cat gets annoyed: two minutes every day is better than one long session.
  5. Remove the hair from the blade with a flick, and store the brush somewhere dry.

During the spring and autumn moult, a short session every day; the rest of the year, once or twice a week.

What it is

Frequently asked questions

Does the brush cut my cat's hair? No. Its micro-teeth catch dead hair and loose undercoat; they do not cut live hair.

My cat doesn't like being brushed: what can I do? Start with one or two minutes, on the back, with strokes and a treat. The fine blade doesn't pull: many cats get used to it quickly.

Is it suitable for a long-haired cat? Yes, to remove undercoat when it sheds. But it does not detangle: on a matted coat, use a comb first.

Does brushing help with hairballs? By removing dead hair, brushing limits the amount of hair your cat swallows while grooming. If your cat often vomits hairballs, talk to your vet.

Can I brush a kitten? Yes, very gently and briefly, to get it used to brushing from a young age.

How do I clean it? Remove the hair from the blade after each use. If it gets wet, rinse the blade and dry it straight away, without leaving the wooden handle to soak.
