Vitamins and plants for dogs: how does Vitality work?

Tone and energy through the seasons

With ginseng, a plant known to support energy, and a supply of vitamins and magnesium, Vitality supports tired dogs, sporting dogs before a period of work or competition, and dogs that need to recover, as an occasional course of 15 days to 1 month.

The liveliness and enthusiasm of senior dogs

With age, some dogs seem less present. Ginkgo biloba has been studied in older dogs: in a trial on 42 senior dogs, a standardised extract improved their vitality, sleep and interest in activities. Vitality contains 30 mg per tablet, to help it stay alert.

Antioxidant vitamins and echinacea

Vitamins E, C and A are antioxidants; vitamin D3 and B6 complete the formula. Echinacea, a traditional plant, supports the body during periods of greater demand: change of season, effort, recovery, for courses of 8 weeks at most.

Bilberry, lutein and zeaxanthin

Bilberry is rich in anthocyanins, antioxidant pigments. Lutein and zeaxanthin are the natural pigments found in the eye. Vitality combines them to complete the antioxidant intake of ageing dogs, alongside the vitamins E, C and A in the formula, in a single tablet.

With age, after a period of tiredness or during intense effort, your dog may lack enthusiasm: it sleeps more, takes less interest in its surroundings, needs to recover. Vitality is a natural tonic, as an occasional course, combining plants, vitamins and antioxidants to support its tone and vitality.

Who is it for, and when

the older dog that is less lively, as soon as it lacks enthusiasm;
the dog that needs to recover after a period of tiredness or convalescence, in agreement with your vet;
the sporting or working dog, before and during intense periods (training, competitions).

For older dogs that also need mobility, Vitality can be combined with Reinforced Articulation. Both are combined with Krill Oil in our Senior joint course: €68 instead of €81.95.

Composition per tablet: cellulose, maltodextrin, Echinacea purpurea 30 mg, Ginkgo biloba 30 mg, bilberry powder 30 mg, Panax ginseng 30 mg, lutein 20% 6 mg, zeaxanthin 25% 6 mg. Additives: marine magnesium oxide 100 mg, vitamin E 54 mg, vitamin C 40 mg, vitamin D3 100 IU, vitamin B6 0.41 mg, vitamin A 200 IU, gum arabic, magnesium stearate, liver flavour. Complementary feed for dogs.

Dosage per animal

1 tablet a day per 10 kg, directly or in the meal: it is liver-flavoured and scored.

Course of 15 days to 1 month, never more than 8 weeks in a row, to be repeated when your dog is tired again. Box of 30 tablets.

Our ingredients

Marine magnesium

A mineral of marine origin that contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system and muscles. The most concentrated functional ingredient. 100 mg of magnesium oxide per tablet.

Vitamin E

An antioxidant vitamin that protects cells from oxidative stress, to support the ageing dog. 54 mg per tablet.

Vitamin C

An antioxidant vitamin. It complements the action of vitamin E. Dogs make their own, and Vitality adds to it. 40 mg per tablet.

Ginkgo biloba

A sacred tree in Asia. In 42 senior dogs, a standardised extract of its leaves improved their vitality and interest in activities. 30 mg per tablet.

Panax ginseng

A root used for centuries, known to support energy and help the body cope with periods of tiredness. 30 mg per tablet.

Echinacea

A plant first used by Native Americans, which supports the body when it is under more demand. As a course of 8 weeks at most. 30 mg per tablet.

Bilberry

A small berry rich in anthocyanins, the antioxidant pigments that give it its bluish colour. It is provided as berry powder. 30 mg per tablet.

Lutein

A natural antioxidant pigment found in the eye. It occurs in green vegetables and egg yolk. 6 mg of 20% extract per tablet.

Zeaxanthin

A natural antioxidant pigment found in the eye alongside lutein. The two work together. 6 mg of 25% extract per tablet.

Vitamin B6

A B vitamin that contributes to energy metabolism and to the uptake of magnesium, the most concentrated active in the formula. 0.41 mg per tablet.

Vitamin A

A vitamin that contributes to eye and skin health. It complements lutein and zeaxanthin, the two pigments of the eye. 200 IU per tablet.

Vitamin D3

A vitamin that contributes to calcium metabolism and strong bones. Dogs cannot make it from sunlight: it comes from their diet. 100 IU per tablet.

Which dogs is Vitality for?

Older dogs that are less lively, tired dogs or dogs that need to recover, and sporting dogs.

My older dog sleeps a lot and seems less present: can Vitality help?

With age, many dogs enter a vicious circle: they lose their liveliness, sleep more and move less; their muscles waste, their joints stiffen, and the less they move, the less they want to move. Vitality helps restore tone, so that it wants to go out and take part again. Combined with the joint course, Reinforced Articulation and Krill Oil, which support joint comfort, it gets moving again. That is what Valérie saw with Shadow: after 8 days, she was taking part in activities again and showing interest in others. All three are combined in our Senior joint course. If the change is recent or sudden, have your dog examined by your vet first.

How long should I give it?

15 days: to discover it and see the first effects;
1 month: to settle well-being over time.

It is an occasional course: no more than 8 weeks in a row, to be repeated when your dog is tired again.

How many tablets should I give?

1 tablet a day per 10 kg. A box of 30 lasts 30 days for a 10 kg dog, and 15 days for a 20 kg dog.

Can it be combined with other products?

Yes: with Reinforced Articulation for older dogs that need mobility, or with Krill Oil, whose omega-3s also support senior dogs. All three are combined in our Senior joint course.

Can it be given to a sporting dog before a competition?

Yes: start 15 days to 1 month before the intense period, then continue during it, never more than 8 weeks in a row.

Are there any precautions?

Yes: stop Vitality 5 days before surgery, and ask your vet if your dog has an autoimmune disease or is on treatment. It is not suitable for pregnant or nursing bitches. After the puppies are weaned, however, it can help her recover.

Can several courses be given at the same time?

Yes. When you give two courses, you can give both with the morning meal, or one in the morning and the other in the evening if your dog has two meals a day.

The only exception: Digestion and Vermiflore, which replace each other.
