How to help your sporting dog recover?
Before the run: paw pads
Applied 10 to 15 minutes before going out, the repair balm forms a protective film on the paw pads and between the toes: against snow, salt, stones and abrasive ground. After every long outing, it moisturises and softens them. It is the reference paw pad care in dog sports.
After exercise: drink and recover
After exercise, a dog does not always drink enough. Grilled chicken flavoured, Rehydration dissolves in 250 to 500 ml of water: it provides sodium, potassium and chlorides, and maltodextrin, which helps replenish the muscles’ energy stores. Offer it within 30 minutes after exercise.
In the evening: the massage
Very fluid, our gel with 30% arnica extract passes through the coat and reaches the skin, without sticking or soiling the coat. A massage after exercise helps relax the muscles that have worked and supports recovery. It is sold and used in clinic by veterinary physiotherapists, during their massage sessions.
Designed by a musher
Valérie, founder of ELEMENT VET, is a musher. These are the three products she takes to every training session and every race: canicross, sledding, bikejoring, agility or hunting. Together in one course, they support your dog all season, from training to competition, for €66 instead of €88.50 when bought separately.
Our three reference products for dog sport, before and after exercise
Dog sport is in ELEMENT VET’s DNA. The Cure chien sportif brings together our three reference products: Rehydration to drink and recover after exercise, the balm to protect paw pads, and the massage gel for a relaxing, recovery massage.
Who is it for, and when
- dogs doing canicross, sledding (mushing), bikejoring, cani-hiking or agility, during the training and competition season;
- hunting and working dogs, during the season;
- dogs that hike or run on rough ground, in hot weather as on snow.
What the course contains
- Paw pad repair balm, 125 ml: zinc oxide, calendula, thyme and three essential oils, to protect, moisturise and soften paw pads.
- Massage gel, 150 ml: 30% arnica extract, calendula, aloe and essential oils (eucalyptus, wintergreen, lavender, cinnamon), for a relaxing, recovery massage.
- Rehydration, 2 boxes of 12 x 10 g sachets, grilled chicken flavour: sodium, potassium, chlorides and maltodextrin, to dilute in water after exercise.
That is €66 instead of €88.50 when bought separately.
Rehydration is a complementary feed for dogs; the balm and the gel are applied to the skin. Full composition and analytical constituents: see each product page above.

Pro tip
At my mushing races, my Cure chien sportif never leaves my side: it has everything I need to keep my dogs fit and help them recover well. Balm on the paw pads before the start, a Rehydration soup with a few kibbles at the finish, then a gel massage in the evening: my dogs love it.

Our ingredients
Zinc oxide
A white mineral powder and the key ingredient of the balm: it forms a protective film that shields the paw pad from moisture and outside aggressions. In the balm.
Calendula
Pot marigold, an emblematic skin-care plant, valued for its softening and soothing properties. In the balm and in the gel.
Maltodextrin
A carbohydrate made from starch, quickly available, which helps replenish the muscles’ energy stores after exercise. 8.8 g per Rehydration sachet.
Sodium chloride
Salt provides sodium and part of the chlorides, two electrolytes of the body’s water balance. 190 mg of sodium per Rehydration sachet.
Potassium chloride
It provides potassium, the other major electrolyte of water balance, alongside sodium and chlorides. 190 mg of potassium per Rehydration sachet.
Arnica
A mountain plant with yellow flowers, traditionally used in massage products after exercise. The gel’s main ingredient, as an extract.
Aloe
Used in cosmetics for thousands of years, aloe vera moisturises and soothes the skin during the massage, without leaving a greasy film. In the gel.
Wintergreen
A traditional essential oil in after-exercise massage products, for its cooling sensation. It contains methyl salicylate. In the gel.
